I really, really disagree with this.  I realize that we all experience jealousy in relationships, myself included, but I have seen men and women ruin their relationships because of their insecurity and jealousy.  Being jealous in a relationship means that you don’t trust the person and you’re not secure enough with them to allow them to have a life separate from you.   Your boyfriend or girlfriend should not be your life.  Your boyfriend or girlfriend should be a part of your life, but you should have other things going on as well.  Jealousy prevents that from happening and hinders the growth of a relationship. Now, this isn’t to say that if your boyfriend or girlfriend is constantly flirting with other people, you can’t feel a little envy or even get a little mad, but if they are flirting with other people, they are not being faithful. This isn’t to say that that little pang of jealousy when you hear about your significant other having a lot of fun with out you isn’t valid, but you can feel that jealousy and not act on it.  There is nothing cute about a jealous significant other texting and calling you constantly, or needing to know exactly where you are and what you are doing.    I’ve seen this circulating tumblr for a while and every time I’ve seen it on my dash, it has made me a little more annoyed.
